On September 4, 2015, Shin & Kim and Allen & Overy LLP held a joint seminar entitled “Strategies for Korean Companies to Cope with Implementation of the European Patent with Unitary Effect and Unified Patent Court System” sponsored by the Federation of Korean Industries.
Bo-Kyung Lim, a partner of Shin & Kim’s IP Practice Group, gave a presentation on an overview of the unitary patent system and unified patent court system in Europe, and David Por and Joachim Feldges of Allen & Overy LLP’s Munich and Paris offices give presentations on strategies for Korean companies to cope with Europe’s unified patent system and related cases.
The seminar was attended by more than 150 officers and employees of Korean companies currently doing businesses in Europe, which may be affected by the upcoming reform of the European patent and patent litigation system.
