Claudia Chong-Ah Hong is a senior foreign attorney (member of the California Bar) at Shin & Kim, who also advises the firm's management on various strategic matters. Claudia focuses her practice on corporate compliance & investigations, public affairs, and general corporate matters, in particular, providing counsel to foreign-based multinational clients in various industries, including technology, media, and entertainment, banking & finance, retail, and consumer goods. She has significant experience advising senior executives in both the private and public sectors.

Prior to coming to Korea, Claudia was a Vice President in the Corporate Practice of Weber Shandwick, one of the world’s leading global PR firms. At Weber, she provided communications counsel to multinational clients in various industries, including financial services, technology, consumer goods, and retail. As Vice President and Chief of Staff at the Bank of New York Mellon (BNY Mellon), a global investments company, she held various responsibilities, including business strategy and planning, risk management/compliance, strategic communications, CSR, as well as advising on public-private partnership and industry network efforts, including the Financial Services Sector Coordinating Council (FSSCC).

At the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Claudia worked on various issues relating to financial institutions, public affairs, and inter-government relations. During the height of the global financial crisis, Claudia advised top Treasury officials on financial stability initiatives.

Claudia received her law degree from Loyola Law School, where she served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Loyola of Los Angeles Entertainment Law Review. She also graduated with “Distinction in All Subjects” from Cornell University’s College of Arts & Sciences. She speaks English, Korean and German.
