Mr. Chulmin Choi is a partner at Shin & Kim and his practice focuses on litigations involving construction, real estate and family, criminal cases and civil execution cases.

Mr. Choi started his career as a judge in Seoul Southern District Court and served as a judge or presiding judge at the several courts involving Family Branch Court of Gwangju District Court, Ansan Branch Court of Suwon District Court, as a professor at Judicial Research and Training Institute. Mr. Choi has been serving as a partner at Shin & Kim since March 2021.

Mr. Choi has been involved in a wide range of areas such as construction, real estate and criminal law, as he lectured Practice of Criminal Proceedings, Civil Execution while teaching at the JRTI and served as a judge or presiding judge at the several courts.

• Advised on real estate leases such as hotels, duty-free shops, highway rest areas, large supermarkets, logistics centers, etc. and cases such as rent reduction, compensation for damages, and building handover
• Represented a client in cases of injunctions, including lawsuits related to the right to sunlight, right to view, etc. following the construction of large buildings, and prohibition of obstruction of construction
• Represented a client in cases of compensation for damages related to large construction works such as power plant repairs, new power outlets, and sewage treatment facilities
• Represented clients in divorce and division of property of wealthy individuals such as corporate managers
• Represented a client in case of adult guardianship for company founders, etc.
• Advised on inheritance and gift, and cases of invalidity of wills, division of inherited property, return of inheritance, etc.
• Represented clients in criminal cases related to the performance of duties of controlling shareholders, executives, etc.
• Advised on response to corporate media articles, slanders, etc. and represented a client in cases of correction requests and injunction seeking prohibition of posting
• Represented a client in cases related to clans, such as a request for cancellation of registration of ownership transfer on the real estate owned by clans
