Mr. Young Ho Seo is a partner at Shin & Kim. His main practice areas include corporate disputes and financial products, environment and energy, industrial safety and health, corporate criminal cases.

Before joining Shin & Kim in March 2022, Mr. Seo served as a Supreme Court Justice Research Officer and as a judge at the Gwangju High Court, the Seoul Central District Court, and the Incheon District Court, etc.

Mr. Seo experienced in handling a number of corporate lawsuits at the Civil Agreement Department (for corporate matters), Seoul Central District Court. He also has a broad understanding of environment and energy fields through legislation and policy advisory activities at the Civil Agreement Department (for environmental matters), Incheon District Court, and the Supreme Court Environmental Law Research Association.

Activities related to the Securities and Exchange Act

• In charge of corporate financial products, Civil Agreement Department, Seoul Central District Court
• Research related activities for judges at the Seoul Central District Court; preparation for holding seminars by inviting main finance related agencies, including the Financial Supervisory Service and Korea Exchange

Activities related to environmental law

• Civil Agreement Department (dedicated to environmental cases), Incheon District Court
• Member, Supreme Court Environmental Law Research Society and the Korean Society of Environmental Law
• General Affairs Manager, Supreme Court Environmental Law Research Society
• Attended a Boot Camp hosted by ELI in Washington D.C. to study overall environmental law issues in the U.S. (October 2010)
• Advised the Korea Institute of Environmental Policy Evaluation on their activities (May 2012~ October 2012)
• Advisory Member to the Committee for Legislation and Enactment of the Act on Liability for Environmental Damage and Relief Thereof led by the Environmental Policy Office of the Ministry of Environment and the Korea Institute of Environmental Industrial Technology (April 2013 ~ Present)
