Jiwon Kang is a Partner at Shin & Kim, specializing in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Private Equity, Growth Equity, Venture Capital, startup advisory, and general corporate matters. She has extensive experience advising domestic and international private equity funds, multinational corporations, and venture capital firms on major investment transactions, with a particular focus on cross-border deals, leveraging her strong language capabilities.

Ms. Kang earned her LL.B. from Yonsei University College of Law and obtained an LL.M. from Stanford Law School. She completed the 34th Judicial Research and Training Institute program in Korea and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2012. She has served as a Secondee Lawyer at GE Capital and as an International Associate at Shearman & Sterling LLP’s Palo Alto office.

Since 2018, she has held various public and institutional advisory roles, including International Director of the Korean Bar Association, Committee Member for Risk Management and Performance Evaluation of the Employment Promotion Fund for the Disabled under the Ministry of Employment and Labor, Member of the National Pension Fund Operational Evaluation Committee, and Member of the Risk Management Committee of the National Health Insurance Service. Through these roles, she has developed a deep understanding of the needs and practices of Korea’s leading institutional investors.
