Shin & Kim, LLC, received the honor of winning the ‘Impact Case of the Year’ at Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific Awards 2024.
This concerned a claim for insurance money for accidents that occurred during the construction of the Bujeon-Masan double-track railway private investment project, and Shin & Kim won the first trial of the first accident by dismissing all of the Plaintiff’s claims on behalf of KB Insurance and the Construction Mutual Aid Association, and also achieved results such as a decision to dismiss approximately 98% of the total amount claimed by the Plaintiff in the appeal trial.
This case is a case where various issues regarding construction insurance have been dealt with in depth, and this ruling is expected to have a significant impact on the formation of legal principles regarding the interpretation of domestic construction insurance terms and conditions in the future.
In addition, lawyer Byun Ok-sook of Shin & Kim was selected as the female lawyer in the top 100 litigation areas in the Asia-Pacific region, and lawyer Shin Hyo-jeong in the field of international arbitration was selected as one of 40 outstanding lawyers under the age of 40.
