Mr. Kihun Kim is a partner at Shin & Kim and his practice focuses on corporate disputes, real estate disputes, guardianship and asset succession, and administrative litigation and remedies.

Mr. Kim has accumulated a wealth of experience in handling litigations and advising on various corporate matters, including disputes related to mergers and acquisitions and partnership agreements, as well as in guardianship and asset succession disputes involving related parties of major corporations. He has also handled numerous administrative disputes in various fields.

Mr. Kim graduated from Seoul National University College of Law, earned his LL.M. from Seoul National University Graduate School of Law (majoring in administrative law), and completed the judicial training course at the Judicial Research and Training Institute as a member of the 41st class. Prior to joining Shin & Kim, Mr. Kim served as a judge advocate (Army Captain) and tried numerous national cases.

• Won a case of damages caused by a fire at a large distribution center against the findings of the National Forensic Service.
• Represented the Republic of Korea in the case of the Sewol ferry recourse amount and damages.
• Obtained invalidation of a notarial deed in a case where the validity of a notarial deed was challenged.
• Represented an expatriate in an international divorce case involving jurisdictional issues.
• Represented the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation in a case of damages related to a joint venture between the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation and an integrated energy supplier.
• Represented Korean developers in an unjust enrichment case involving an industrial park development project implemented by the Korea Land and Housing Corporation.
• Represented a Korean company in a dispute between a Korean real estate company and a foreign hotel franchise over a lease agreement.
• Represented a state-owned company in a litigation on the reduction of penalties in connection with an apartment development project between a real estate developer and the state-owned company.
• Represented a private equity fund in a case of damages caused by a breach of a shareholders’ agreement between the private equity fund and a conglomerate.
• Represented a Korean branded apparel company in a case of settlement and damages between the apparel company and its distributors.
• Represented a high-tech materials company in a case of damages from product development between the high-tech materials company and a design service company.
