Ms. Jiwon Kang is a partner at Shin&Kim. Her main areas of practice include M&A, private equity, Growth Equity, Venture Capital, startup legal advice, and general corporate legal affairs.

Ms. Kang has been providing advice on major investment transactions on behalf of domestic and foreign PEFs, multinational companies, and domestic and international VCs, and provides advice mainly on cross-border transactions based on foreign language capabilities.

Ms. Jiwon Kang graduated from Yonsei University College of Law, obtained a master’s degree (LL.M) from Stanford Law School and completed the 34th Judicial Research and Training Center, and also passed the New York State Bar Examination in the United States in 2012. Ms. Kang served as a Secondee Lawyer at the Global Company GE Capital and an International Associate at the Global Law Firm Shearman & Sterling Palo Alto Office, and she is well aware of the needs of major domestic investors as, since 2018, she has been serving as the International Director of the Korean Bar Association and as a member of various associations and committees, including the Risk Management and Performance Evaluation Committee of the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s Disabled Employment Fund, the National Pension Service Investment Management Evaluation Committee and the National Health Insurance Service Risk Management Committee.
