Young-Key Hwang appointed as New Chairman of the Korea-America Association

On February 19, 2020, Mr. Young-Key Hwang, a Shin & Kim Senior Advisor, was elected to serve a three-year term as the seventh Chairman of the Korea-America Association (“KAA”).

Speaking about his appointment as Chairman, Mr. Hwang said: “I will do my best to engage the private sector in public diplomacy as we collectively work towards overcoming challenges in the ROK-U.S. relations, and to enable friendly cooperation and partnership between the two countries.”

Founded in 1963, the KAA is a private organization engaged in various projects to promote cultural exchange and to bolster cooperation between South Korea and the United States.

These initiatives include hosting seminars on current issues – ranging from politics and economy to social and cultural issues – as well as various events to promote bilateral friendship between the two countries.
