Mr. Heegun Jung is currently a senior foreign attorney at Shin & Kim, and his practice focuses on cross-border private equity, real estate, infrastructure and other alternative investments, offshore fund investment and acquisition finance, and venture capital.

Mr. Jung has a wealth of experience advising Korea's leading pension funds and asset management companies on various types of overseas investments. He has also represented leading Korean VCs and companies, such as Korea Venture Investment Corp., and advised them on overseas investment structure and fund investments.

Mr. Jung graduated from Seoul National University with a bachelor’s degree in economics in 2008 and received his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2011. Prior to joining Shin & Kim, he worked as a foreign attorney at Yulchon LLC (2011-2013).

Mr. Jung has participated as a speaker or panelist at numerous domestic and international seminars in the field of overseas alternative investments and private equity and has been recognized as a “Next Generation Lawyer” for Banking and Finance Law by the Legal 500 (2017, 2018).

• Advised major Korean pension funds and sovereign wealth funds, such as the National Pension Service, Korea Investment Corporation, and Korea Venture Investment Corp., on overseas alternative investments
• Advised major asset management companies, including Samsung Asset Management, Shinhan Asset Management, Mirae Asset Global Investments, Meritz Asset Management, and Tiger Alternative Investors, on overseas alternative investments such as real estate, infrastructure, and private equity
• Advised major banks and insurance companies, such as KB Kookmin Bank, Woori Bank, Samsung Life Insurance and Samsung Fire & Marine insurance, on offshore fund investments
• Advised Samsung Asset Management on the establishment of a Cayman Islands fund of funds
• Advised the National Pension Service on the establishment of an overseas real estate investment platform
• Advised Korea Investment Corporation on the establishment of an overseas office
• Advised KB Kookmin Bank on a subscription facility for an offshore fund
