Mr. Benjamin Hughes, a partner at Shin & Kim and co-chair of the firm’s international dispute resolution practice group, was recently elected as a member of the East Asia Branch Committee of the Charter Institute of Arbitrators in Hong Kong. He is the only member of the committee not resident in Hong Kong.
Mr. Hughes was also recently appointed as the Chairman of the International Advisory Committee of the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board (KCAB). The committee advises the KCAB on issues relating to international arbitration.
Finally, Mr. Hughes has also recently been appointed as a member of the panel of arbitrators of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC).
Mr. Hughes specializes in international arbitration and alternative dispute resolution, and is listed as an arbitrator with several arbitral institutions in the region. He is listed as a leading individual in Korea by Chambers Asia-Pacific 2011 in the area of international arbitration.
