Sinseob Kang Appointed as the Firm’s New Managing Partner

Mr. Sinseob Kang has been appointed as the new managing partner of Shin & Kim as of March 29, 2013.

 

Mr. Kang is a former judge, having first served at the Uijeongbu Branch of the Seoul District Court in 1986 and subsequently in the Seoul Civil District Court, Jeonju District Court and the Gwangju High Court.  Mr. Kang also served as a research officer in the Korean Supreme Court.  In 1998, Mr. Kang retired from the judiciary and commenced his private practice at the Yeollin Law Office, later joining Shin & Kim when the two firms merged in 2001.  He was appointed as one of the managing directors of Shin & Kim in 2011.

 

Outside of the Firm, Mr. Kang currently serves as a director of the Legal Aid Foundation of the Korean Bar Association and is a member of the Judicial Evaluation Committee of the Korean Bar Association.  Mr. Kang is a former member of the Ministry of Justice’s Policy Committee, and the Financial Grievance Mediation Committee of the Financial Supervisory Service.  He also served as director of the Seoul Scholarship Foundation and as a non-standing member of the Prime Ministerial Administrative Determination Committee.

 

In his inaugural speech, Mr. Kang stated, “I will work closely with each member of the Firm to foster a firm culture of collaboration and trust, so we can work together as one toward achieving the best performance for our Firm. The Firm will also continue to devote its best efforts toward corporate social responsibility, remaining active in its pro bono activities and community services, by providing free legal assistance and support to the underprivileged.”
