On November 18, 2014, Dae-Yong Baek, a partner of Shin & Kim, was appointed as a member of the Korea Communication Commission’s Review Committee for location information service business licenses.
Mr. Baek is a highly regarded expert on information protection and personal information laws, having advised government ministries and agencies including the Korea Communication Commission, the Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs, the Personal Information Protection Commission, as well as public organizations such as the Korea Internet and Security Agency and the National Information Society Agency, on issues relating to the Personal Information Protection Act, the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network and the Location Privacy Protection Act.
