On May 16, 2008, Shin & Kim hosted a seminar on "Regulatory Practice in Unfair Trade Practices" at Seoul Club to raise the public awareness of the unfair trade practices in the capital market.
During the seminar, Woong-Soon Song, Sang Man Kim, Jin Ho Lee and Yong-Sung Lee spoke on the seminar topic to present regulations to be toughened and the remedies to be afforded under various legislations such as the Capital Market Consolidation Act, as well as on how the authorities conduct their investigations on alleged unfair trade practices and related issues. These attorneys, as attorney and member of the Research Bureau in the Financial Supervisory Service and the Securities & Futures Commission, have substantial experience in the investigation and inspection of unfair trade.
The seminar was attended by more than 100 working-level personnel from the Financial Supervisory Service, the Korean Securities Depository, Kookmin Bank, Samsung Card, Hanwha Corporation, IBM, STX, SK Telecom, which seemed to show the public's keen interest on the seminar's topic.
