Sang-Man Kim, Partner at the law firm Shin & Kim was selected as “External Counsel of the Year 2009” by the Asian legal business magazine Asian-Counsel.
The selection was based on a survey of more than 15,000 in-house counsels and senior corporate management responsible for legal spending across the Asia Pacific region including Japan, China, Hong Kong and Australia as well as South Korea and the UAE. Based on the survey results, 24 practitioners across the Asia and the Pacific regions were selected as most reliable counsel. Asian-Counsel is a leading legal business magazine published and distributed in Asia by the Pacific Business Press. Each year, the magazine selects “External Counsel of the Year” to help in-house counsel select reliable legal services from outside law firms.
Sang-Man Kim has earned the reputation of being “a lawyer who is easy to work with, understands clients’ businesses well, and delivers good value for money legal services” from the in-house counsels who responded to the survey. He is a graduate of Seoul National University College of Law (LL.B.) and New York University School of Law (LL.M.). He has been a lawyer with Shin & Kim since 1991, specializing in the areas of securities and finance, including regulatory advice on finance-related laws, domestic and cross-border capital market transactions, asset management, derivatives and project finance.
