With an increasing demand from various businesses and economic groups for legal advice relating to the new presidential administration’s ‘economic democracy’ policy, Shin & Kim has launched a special task force consisting of twenty tax and antitrust attorneys, accountants, tax accountants and advisers.
The demand for legal advice concerning economic democracy-related issues is expected to increase with the impending end-of-July deadline for payment of gift taxes with respect to consolidated related-party transactions of controlling shareholders, requiring close cooperation across multiple practice areas including antitrust, corporate law, taxation, and criminal justice. The members of Shin & Kim’s special task force consist of attorneys, accountants and advisers who have significant experience in government policy decisions and regulatory issues and have in-depth, expert knowledge to bring to play in providing a broad range of legal services relating to the economic democracy policy and its implementation.
