Mr. Park served as a public official at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and former Ministry of Planning and Budget, from March 1986 for thirty years until September 2016. During his service at the Ministry, he was mainly involved in overall management of the national budget at the Budget Office, including the formulation and execution of the national budget, reform of the public financial system, legislation/amendment of related laws, and National Assembly affairs, among others. For four years from December 2006 to December 2010, he was dispatched to the UC Berkeley and KITECH USA in San Jose (Silicon Valley) to promote and implement bilateral cooperation programs between industries and in science and technology, investment sourcing and expertise networking between the U.S. and Korea.

After retiring from public office, he worked at the Korea Federation of SMEs, an organization of cooperatives among SMEs, from October 2016 until August 2019 as Managing Director and Head of the Mutual Deduction Fund Program (also as CIO of Yellow Umbrella Deduction Program). While managing the Yellow Umbrella Deduction Fund, he headed bond, stock, corporate, in-kind and other alternative investments and other direct and indirect investments with financial institutions such as banks, securities, VCs/PEs and asset managers, among others. Thereafter, he worked as the CEO of an investment firm, Pioneer Investment, for three years from September 2019 to June 2022, and headed investments in startups and SMEs including suppliers of Home & Shopping, its mother company.
