Ji Hoon Kim is a partner at Shin & Kim. Mr. Kim’s main practice areas include responding to financial institution investigation and enforcement actions, legal advice on insurance business matters, and handling allegations of unfair transactions in the capital market.

Mr. Kim began his career in public service in 2008, when he joined the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS). During his approximately 15 years of service until 2022, he worked in various departments and divisions of the FSS, including the Life Insurance Service Department, the Insurance Products Supervision Department, the Insurance Products Review Office, the Non-Life Insurance Examination Department, and the Dispute Settlement Department I. He gained a wide range of experiences and expertise in insurance regulation overall, handling numerous insurance cases involving pre- and post-examination of insurance products, investigation and enforcement against insurers, and settlement of financial and insurance-related disputes.

Mr. Kim also served on secondment to the Capital Market Investigation Department 2 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office, where he assisted in investigating and inspecting unfair transactions in the capital market.
