Mr. Dong Cheol Lee is a Senior Advisor at Shin & Kim, where he provides advisory services in the areas of the financial industry and financial regulation.

Mr. Lee graduated from the College of Law at Korea University and earned a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from Tulane University Law School in the United States. After serving as Branch Manager of the New York Branch, Head of Strategic Planning, and Secretary-General for the establishment of the holding company at KB Kookmin Bank, he went on to serve as Executive Vice President of Business Planning at KB Life Insurance. He subsequently served as President and CEO of KB Kookmin Card and Vice Chairman of KB Financial Group.

During his tenure at KB Financial Group, Mr. Lee led the group’s major M&A initiatives, including the merger of KB Kookmin Bank and Korea Housing Bank, the acquisition of Bank BII in Indonesia, and the acquisition of Hyundai Securities. Additionally, he spearheaded KB Financial Group’s key growth strategies in insurance, IT, digital, and global businesses, and possesses extensive experience across the entire financial industry.

Currently, based on his experience in financial institution management and strategic execution, Mr. Lee advises on financial regulatory compliance, management strategy and restructuring of financial institutions, as well as finance-related transactions and investments.
