Juyoung Lim is an Advisor at Shin & Kim LLC and provides advisory services on legislative and policy matters as a member of the firm’s Legislative Strategy Advisory Team.
Mr. Lim began his career as a journalist at Yonhap News Agency in 2000 and, over the course of approximately 26 years, covered a wide range of areas, including social affairs, economics, foreign affairs, and national security, while holding key positions such as Editor of the Social Affairs Department and Deputy Editor. In particular, he spent approximately 15 years covering legal and judicial affairs, gaining an in-depth understanding of the institutions and practices of the courts, prosecution, police, and other judicial, investigative, and administrative authorities, as well as developing an extensive professional network in these areas.
Mr. Lim also served as a Washington Correspondent, where he covered U.S. politics, foreign affairs, and major policy developments during the first Trump administration and the Biden administration. He also has extensive field experience in foreign affairs and national security, including two reporting visits to North Korea.
In addition, Mr. Lim has been actively involved in a wide range of external professional activities. He has served as a lecturer at nationwide conferences and training programs for judges organized by the Supreme Court of Korea and the Judicial Research and Training Institute, as a member of executive recommendation committees for institutions affiliated with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, as an evaluator for a project commissioned by the Korea Meteorological Administration, and as a reviewer for a project of the National Human Rights Commission of Korea.
