On January 22, 2014, Hana Lee gave a presentation entitled “How to prevent the leakage of trade secrets through employees” at the Experts Training Club of the French-Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (the “FKCCI”).
Recently, there has been an increasing concern over officers and employees’ leakage of trade secrets during their employment or a breach of confidentiality obligations after leaving their employer to work for a competitor. Against such backdrop, the presentation was designed to discuss in detail effective countermeasures and strategies for corporations.
Ms. Lee has long been advising clients on intellectual property and IT related disputes. Based on such experience, she gave a one-hour presentation on protective measures for trade secrets based on domestic and foreign cases, terms of a valid and enforceable non-compete agreement and preliminary injunctions against an employee’s change of occupation. Following the presentation, Ms. Lee fielded questions in a 30-minute Q&A session with participants from member companies of the FKCCI.
