Mr. Min Young Ryu is a partner at Shin & Kim. Mr. Ryu’s practice focuses on consulting on IPO, M&A of financial institutions, acquisition financing, overseas investment, inspection and control of capital market, corporate civil/criminal cases, ESG and compliance.

Mr. Ryu has advised financial institutions on listing of Kakao Bank, SK Bioscience and many other corporations. He has also provided a wide range of advice on M&A transactions involving financial institutions, such as the acquisition of DSME Construction by Hanwha Group in which he represented the government-run bank. In addition, he advises domestic asset management companies and the National Pension Service on overseas investments and foreign funds on investment in Korean start-ups. He also helps his clients successfully navigate challenging issues as to social and video commerce, dispute, ESG and corporate compliance management.

In recognition of his excellence in advisory services in capital markets, Mr. Ryu was selected as a Rising Star Lawyer in Korean capital markets by the International Financial Law Review (IFLR) in 2021 and a Notable Practitioner in the same field in 2022. He was admitted to the bar in New York and Illinois in 2022 when he was studying at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Law.
