Mr. Ju Hyung Lee is a Senior Advisor at Shin & Kim, mainly practicing in the areas of Capital Markets, Financial Market Investigation and Enforcement, accounting supervision, and accounting fraud investigation.

Having joined the Bank of Korea in 1982, Mr. Lee worked in the Research Department and the Monetary Policy Department, and gained strong business experience in analyzing the Korean financial market and system.

In 1999, Mr. Lee moved to the Financial Supervisory Services, which was a new integrated financial supervisory organization then. Mr. Lee served as Director of the Foreign Exchange Supervision Department, Director of the Planning and Coordination Department, and Senior Director of the Microfinance Department, conducting various financial supervisory work and inspection of banks and non-banks. During his term as Director of the Financial Hub Korea, Mr. Lee established an amicable relationship with foreign financial companies in Korea by solving difficult issues arising from inspections and supervisions.

In March 2015, Mr. Lee left the Financial Supervisory Services and his position as a supervisor in the public sector, and began his work in the private sector as a Senior Director at Hanwha Energy’s Business Strategy Division. Mr. Lee also served as a Standing Auditor at Hana Bank starting from March 2017. On top of his time as a regulatory supervisor, Mr. Lee’s experience with the private sector allowed him to develop deeper understanding of the business side including financial strategies for general corporations and risk management and effective internal controls for commercial banks.
