Mr. Joon-Young Lee is a certified public accountant at Shin & Kim, and his practice focuses on tax advice on tax audits, international taxation, and asset management, including inheritance and family business succession.

While he worked in the financial audit department of an accounting firm, he was responsible for auditing financial companies, providing accounting advice for securities issuance, and performing accounting due diligence, and later he worked in the tax advisory department, where he was responsible for reporting corporate taxes, reorganizing corporate governance, responding to tax investigations, handling tax appeals and inquiries about the regulations of the tax authorities for domestic large and mid-sized companies. He also has experience advising on international taxation of overseas investments by domestic funds.

Prior to joining Shin & Kim, Mr. Lee worked in the Tax Group of Kim & Chang, where he handled tax investigations, appeals, and corporate governance reorganizations for major domestic and foreign companies, and advised owners of large corporations on inheritance and gift tax filings and response to investigations, as well as family business succession and management disputes.

• Advised on restructuring, including corporate governance reorganization for HD Hyundai (currently Hyundai Heavy Industries), Company H, Company S, etc.
• Handled inheritance and gift tax filings and tax investigations for owners of large companies such as Company S, Company L, etc.
• Advised on the establishment and taxation of public interest corporations such as Corporation K, etc.
