Mr. Sang-bong Nam is currently a senior counsel of Shin & Kim whose main practice areas include criminal defense, trade secrets, intellectual property, information and communications technology, and sports marketing.

With his 30 years of first-hand experience at the Prosecutors’ Office and leading conglomerates, Mr. Nam advises and represents in cases regarding various corporate issues and compliance, trade secret misappropriation, digital forensics, and sports marketing.

For 19 years, Mr. Nam served as a prosecutor at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office and the District Prosecutors' Offices where he made such outstanding contributions to the investigation of high-tech crimes, especially the industrial technology infringement and divulgence cases, that he was notoriously called 'the grim reaper' against industrial spies. In addition, as a pioneer in the field of digital forensics, he laid the foundation for digital investigation support at the Prosecution Service by leading the establishment of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office's Digital Forensics Center and the Digital Investigation Teams at the District Prosecutors' Office level, gaining early recognition for his expertise.

After moving to the private sector, he served as a vice president at the telecommunications giant KT Group for nine years, leading risk reviews and policy decisions on serious corporate issues as the chief legal officer, the chief ethics officer, and the president of KT’s affiliated company KT Sports. He is highly noted for his efforts to enhance in-house legal practices and establish internal compliance, proving his capabilities and true worth as a professional manager by leading the professional baseball team KT Wiz’s victory in both the Korean Series and the KBO League regular season in the shortest seven years in the team’s history.

In addition, Mr. Nam has contributed to the public interest by serving as a member of a governmental or public interest committee, such as the Korea Exchange Securities Listing Disclosure Committee, the Internet Election News Deliberation Commission, and the Internet Address Dispute Mediation Committee.
