Mr. Daeyong Baek was re-appointed as advisory counsel to the Personal Information Protection Commission for a second year after his first appointment in 2012.
As an attorney specializing in privacy laws, Mr. Baek is highly regarded for his expertise. Since 2009, he has served as an expert member of the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee, and has provided legal advice to the Korea Communication Commission (formerly, the Ministry of Information and Communication), the Ministry of Public Administration and Security and the Personal Information Protection Commission.
Mr. Baek received a commendation from the Minister of Public Administration and Security on December 31, 2012 in recognition of his significant contributions to the protection of personal information. Mr. Baek was the only attorney named among the award recipients, which consisted of individuals, central government employees, local governments and civic groups.
