On October 16, 2014, SHIN & KIM held a seminar on "Changes in the Business Environment Following Economic Sanctions against Russia and Responsive Measures" together with the Federation of Korean Industries and EgorovPuginskyAfanasiev& Partners.

At Session 1, which was themed on "The Western World's Economic Sanctions against Russia and Prospects", presentations were delivered on the content of the Western World's economic sanctions against Russia and Russia's counter-sanctions. At Session II, presentations were delivered on: changes in the Russian and CIS business environment and Korean companies' responsive measures; and investment strategies in Russia and legal considerations, with a focus on legal solutions to joint investment disputes with Russian partners and commercial disputes.

The seminar was held to help Korean companies establish business strategies in their dealings with Russian counterparts, amid rapid changes in the Russian business environment following the U.S. and European sanctions against Russia. The seminar provided legal guidelines for Korean companies in exploring their export opportunities, having regard to both positive and negative aspects of the sanctions against Russia.
