Introduction

Mr. Suk Lee is currently a partner of Shin & Kim. His main practice areas include real estate transactions, real estate funds, real-estate investment companies (REITs), foreign investment, development and trust, real property PF loans, and general corporate legal affairs.

Mr. Lee has served for several years as the head of Shin & Kim’s Real Estate Alternative Investment Group. He has conducted numerous large-scale transactions both domestically and internationally. One of the representative transactions was the sale of Centropolis (with a transaction size of KRW 1.12 trillion) in Gongpyeong-dong, Jongno-gu, the acquisition of the Yeouido Park One Tower Two building (with a transaction size of KRW 1 trillion), and the securitization of some assets of SK Hynix's semiconductor factory.

In addition, in the field of publicly offered listed REITs, Mr. Lee was in charge of real estate acquisitions, business authorizations, and listings for ESR Kendall Square Listed REIT, KB Star REIT, SK REIT, Lotte REIT, and Shinhan Global REIT. He also represented the purchase of real estate funds investing in value-added real estate in the United States, as well as the IRS HQ building in Philadelphia, USA, the NASA HQ building in Washington DC, the European Parliament building in Belgium, the Novartis building in Paris, France, and the Atrium building in Netherlands, and the 1Poultry building in the UK.

Mr. Lee graduated from Seoul National University College of Law, obtained a master’s degree (LL.M) from Columbia University Law School, and completed the 26th term of the Judicial Research and Training Institute. In addition, he served as an associate professor at Hanyang University Law School from 2014 to 2021.

Based on the practical and theoretical knowledge obtained in the course of carrying out various real estate-related tasks, Mr. Lee has published several papers on the latest issues of real estate transactions in the BFL, a legal journal published by the Seoul National University Financial Law Center, has also participated as a presenter and debater in various discussions and seminars on REITs and real estate funds. He has been recognized as a leading lawyer in the real estate sector by well-known overseas media such as Chambers Global, Chambers Asia-Pacific, IFLR 1000 and The Legal 500 Asia Pacific.
