Mr. Hyungki Nam is a Senior Advisor at Shin & Kim, and provides advisory services on legislative/administrative strategies and regulatory responses.
Mr. Nam began his public service career in 1993 after passing the (37th) Higher Civil Service Examination and served for approximately 30 years for central administrative authorities, retiring after the termination of his service as the 2nd Vice Minister of the Office for Government Policy Coordination. He has been in charge of the comprehensive management, and coordination of the resolution, of major pending issues of the government, serving for the Office for Government Policy Coordination as the director general for government policy, director general for regulatory reform planning, director general for safety and environment policy, etc. He has also been involved in the resolution of policy challenges, including the introduction of the regulatory sandbox system, support for the public deliberation process on the Shin-Kori Power Plant Units 5 and 6 and the overhaul of the national disaster management system. In addition, Mr. Nam has performed duties on policy coordination and system overhaul related to climate, environment and carbon neutrality at the Office of the Senior Secretary to the President and other relevant ministries.
Based on such substantial experience on policy planning and coordination, Mr. Nam provides his clients with advisory services on the introduction of legislative strategies, regulatory innovation and the utilization of the sandbox system, climate/environmental policy response, management of public conflicts, administrative disputes, etc.
