Kisoo Han

Mr. Kisoo Han is a partner at Shin & Kim, where his practice focuses on financial disputes, corporate governance and management control disputes, capital markets, serious industrial accidents, corporate criminal matters, and general criminal litigation.

Mr. Han served as a judge for approximately 20 years from 2004 to 2024 at various levels of the Korean judiciary, including the Seoul High Court, Seoul Central District Court, Seoul Southern District Court, Anyang Branch of the Suwon District Court, and Gwangju District Court. Over the course of his judicial career, he presided over a wide range of civil, criminal, and family law matters. At the Seoul High Court, he handled both civil and criminal cases, while at the Seoul Central District Court, his docket included civil appeals and criminal panel cases.

Mr. Han also served as a Judicial Policy Officer at the National Court Administration, where he worked on judicial administration relating to criminal proceedings, and as a Public Information Officer at the Seoul High Court. His experience on the bench, including his work on criminal and election-related cases, has provided him with a thorough understanding of court proceedings and judicial practice, which informs his approach to complex corporate and financial disputes and criminal matters. During his judicial tenure, he was recognized as an Outstanding Judge by a local bar association.

Following his departure from the bench in 2024, Mr. Han joined Kim & Chang, where he advised on corporate disputes and criminal matters. He joined Shin & Kim as a partner in 2026. Drawing on his extensive judicial experience and subsequent private practice, Mr. Han advises and represents clients in complex corporate disputes and criminal matters, including cases involving closely intertwined civil and criminal law issues.
