Yunkyung Jung

Ms. Yunkyung Jung is an Advisor at Shin & Kim, and provides advisory services primarily in the bio and healthcare sector, including National Health Insurance reimbursement listing of new drugs, drug pricing, and pharmacoeconomic evaluation.

Ms. Jung worked at the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service (HIRA), where she was responsible for assessing the appropriateness of reimbursement and conducting pharmacoeconomic evaluations for new drugs and drugs seeking expanded indications, as well as matters involving reimbursement criteria for anticancer drugs, the Risk Sharing Agreement (RSA) system, and improvements to pharmaceutical policies and systems. She subsequently worked on pharmaceutical outcomes evaluation and Real-World Evidence (RWE), gaining extensive practical experience across the entire pharmaceutical reimbursement system, from the value assessment of new drugs to post-listing outcomes evaluation and management.

Ms. Jung also worked as a pharmacist at a general hospital and a pharmacy and gained practical experience in pharmaceutical marketing, developing a strong understanding of the clinical use of pharmaceuticals and the pharmaceutical industry. Drawing on this experience and her in-depth understanding of National Health Insurance reimbursement policy, she provides pricing and reimbursement advisory services to bio and healthcare companies on matters including new drug reimbursement listing, drug pricing, reimbursement criteria, and pharmacoeconomic evaluation.

In recognition of her contributions to pharmaceutical reimbursement and related pharmaceutical policies and systems, Ms. Jung received a Commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare in 2019.
