Attorney Seong-Jin Choi of Shin & Kim has been appointed as a policy advisor to the Anti-Money Laundering Committee of the Korea Financial Intelligence Unit (KOFIU). KOFIU has appointed experts from various areas, including law, academia, finance and IT, as its new policy advisors since Korea’s election as the Chair country of the Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering (FATF).
Attorney Choi’s areas of specialty include corporate crime, high-technology crime, financial crime and money laundering. Mr. Choi had full charge of special investigations in the Northern Branch of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office and the Suwon District Prosecutors’ Office, and investigated political funds and corporate crimes as a member of the Presidential Election Funds Investigation Team of the Central Investigation Department of the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office.
