Mr. Joo Hyeong Kim is currently a partner of Shin & Kim. When serving as a police officer, Mr. Kim handled criminal (investigation) cases including intellectual crimes, economic crimes, narcotic crimes, cyber-crimes, and other violent crimes.
With respect to police investigations of major corporations, he, as an attorney-at-law, defended corporate clients and elicited a decision of non-referral to prosecutors. In one case, he defended a company holding a national core technology and caused a search and seizure to be made against a foreign company suspected of being behind a leakage of the core technology. Also, he handled a variety of cases involving entertainers, including dealing with investigation of entertainers and representing entertainers in criminal complaint cases brought against them.
In addition, his services were not limited to dealing with investigation stages, but included services involving identifying internal irregularties of companies in advance or providing preventive or proactive legal advice for dealing with criminal matters.
