Former Officer Seong-Jin Choi of Forensic Science Planning of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office (SPO) has joined SHIN & KIM.

Mr. Choi began his career as a prosecutor at the Seoul District Prosecutors' Office in 1997 and undertook special criminal investigations at the Northern Branch of the Seoul District Prosecutors' Office and the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office. He investigated political funds and corporate crimes in the Fund Tracking and Investigation Team of the Central Investigation Division of the SPO. He participated in the establishment of the Korea Information System of Criminal Justice Services (KICS) project for the police, prosecutor's office, court and the Ministry of Justice, was dispatched to the special prosecution team for investigating Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) incidents, and was then was charged with digital investigation and forensic science planning at the SPO. Accordingly, he brings with him a wealth of experience and know-how on scientific investigation and cyber crime investigation requiring IT and digital forensic expertise.

His main area of practice is criminal litigation, especially related to corporate crimes, high-tech crimes, financial crimes and money laundering, intellectual property rights, personal information protection, information and communications, and digital forensic and scientific investigation.
