On September 30, 2022, Attorney Ho Sang Yoon at the Privacy & Data Protection Team of the ICT Group of Shin & KIM LLC won a commendation from the Chairperson of the Personal Information Protection Commission, which is the competent governmental agency for the establishment of policies and the conducting of investigations relating to personal information, in recognition of his contribution to the Personal Information Protection Commission’s efforts to prevent, and deal with, incidents of privacy invasion by providing advice on a range of relevant matters and participating in such efforts. 

MR. Yoon, as a member of the Privacy & Data Protection Team of the ICT Group of Shin & Kim LLC with great expertise in the area of privacy of data protection, has to date successfully accomplished major tasks and projects in all the areas of ICT, including personal information, broadcasting, information, telecommunications, Internet regulations, artificial intelligence and big data, at home and abroad. In particular, he made a significant contribution to the creation of a policy ecosystem in relation to autonomous regulation in the ICT sector that the government has been recently pursuing by providing legal support for the Personal Information Protection Commission to lay the groundwork for ‘autonomous regulation on  public-private partnership for online platforms’ as one of the commission’s major projects, including such support for the formation of relevant systems, and to the establishment of a framework for the proper application of laws by acting as a legal advisor on various incidents of privacy invasion, and in recognition of such great contribution, Mr. Yoon received the commendation of merit for the protection of personal information as above. 

The Privacy & Date Protection Team of the ICT Group of Shin & Kim LLC has been contributing to the development of the government’s policies on broadcasting, information and telecommunications by providing the government with in-depth advice on not only existing IT areas but also next-generation core technologies of the 4th industrial revolution, including the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud, big data, artificial intelligence(AI) and blockchain. Furthermore, Shin & Kim LLC has won recognition from the government and various companies and firms by providing them with advice on key issues in the broadcasting, information and telecommunications sectors based on its extensive expertise in ICT areas.
