Ms. Min Jeong Joo is a partner at Shin & Kim. Ms. Joo’s main areas of practice are related to securities and finance such as various legal advice provision on financial matters, domestic and overseas securities issuance including IPO and overseas note issuances, asset management including alternative investment in foreign assets, financial derivatives transaction and Project Financing including SOC.
Ms. Joo has provided various financial institutions such as domestic and overseas banks, securities companies, asset-management companies, discretionary investment managers/advisers and the Korea Securities Depository, the Korea Financial Investment Association and the Korea Exchange with financial legal advice, and participated in the issuance of various securities including domestic and overseas bonds, BW, CB and other derivatives linked securities and DR along with the IPO-related processes of multiple domestic and overseas companies. In addition, Ms. Joo has performed the registration of various domestic and overseas funds, the provision of advice on the management thereof, the registration of the cross-border discretionary investment management company/investment advisory company and the related permission, authorization and reporting. Based on her experience of participating in the finance and securities law course, ISDA conferences, etc. and knowledge gained therefrom, Ms. Joo has provided domestic and overseas financial institutions with advice on various financial derivatives transactions. She also worked as a professional adviser at the Korea Development Bank (KDB) Trading Planning & Compliance Team of the F/X & Derivatives Trading Department for her career advancement on financial derivatives transactions. Furthermore, she has been participating in domestic funds establishment, their investment in foreign assets and redemption of funds through disposal of their investments in relation to various overseas alternative investment vehicles.
Thanks to her fluent command of Japanese, Ms. Joo has participated and made presentations at seminars in Japan related to the listing on KRX for Japanese corporations, and is also in charge of matters on various permissions and authorizations, finance and securities, M&A matters involving Japanese companies, and other general corporate matters related to Japan. She also worked as a foreign attorney at Japanese law firm, Nishimura & Asahi’s Tokyo office for her career advancement on Japan related practices.
