Mr. Hong Ju Kim is currently a partner at Shin & Kim, and his practice focuses on overseas investment, Vietnam and Southeast Asia, domestic and international civil and criminal disputes (litigation and arbitration), corporate rehabilitation and bankruptcy, healthcare and general corporate legal matters.

Mr. Kim, as Head of the Hanoi Office of Shin & Kim, provides legal advice to companies that have entered the Vietnamese or Southeast Asian market. He is recognized as an expert in overseas investment and M&A, international transactions, and international disputes based on his many years of experience dealing with domestic disputes.

Mr. Kim graduated from Seoul National University College of Engineering. He passed the bar exam while attending Kyung Hee University College of Oriental Medicine and completed the 43rd judicial training course at the Judicial Research and Training Institute. Since joining Shin & Kim in 2014, Mr. Kim has successfully handled a variety of civil and criminal disputes for companies and has accumulated expertise in litigation and advisory services over many years, particularly in corporate rehabilitation, bankruptcy, and workouts. Since early 2021, Mr. Kim has been based in Hanoi, Vietnam, where he has handled overseas investment, international transactions, M&A, and corporate general and has provided loyal and professional legal services to local clients in Vietnam as well as domestic and foreign clients who need assistance with the Vietnamese legal system based on his expertise, legal mind and friendly personality.

Mr. Kim has published a number of articles and legal commentaries in the areas of insolvency, disputes, and overseas investment and has been selected as an advisor to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam, where he has conducted various seminars on Vietnamese dispute procedures, real estate law, and financial law for the Embassy and other companies in Vietnam.
