Mr. Yeon Woo Jeong is a partner at Shin & Kim, and his main practice areas include project finance, equity and mezzanine investment, acquisition finance, securitization and structured finance, asset management, collective investment, and capital markets.

Mr. Jeong provides various legal advice related to financial affairs, and in particular, he has successfully advised on numerous cases related to corporate loans, equity and mezzanine investments, and overseas real estate investments by financial institutions. In addition, he provides legal advice and other general corporate advice for project finance developers and contractors.

Prior to joining Shin & Kim, Mr. Jeong was in charge of reviewing various IB deals at the legal department of Meritz Securities and also performed various tasks related to financial regulations and compliance.

• Advised on a transaction involving a controlling stake in Kyobo Life Insurance and related secured loans.
• Advised a domestic financial institution on a loan secured by the controlling stake in a U.S.-listed company.
• Advised a domestic financial institution on an equity investment in an Australia-listed company.
• Advised a Singapore-based asset management company on domestic investments and the formation of a blind fund.
• Advised K Shipbuilding on matters involving ship finance.
• Advised Meritz Financial Group on a loan to Polar Energy & Marine and its investment in bonds with warrants issued by Polaris Shipping.
• Advised on numerous project finance transactions, including the development of the former KT site in Mokdong, a logistics center in Jeombong-dong in Yeoju, a knowledge industry center in Seongseong-dong in Cheonan, and an art storage facility at Incheon Airport.
• Advised on overseas real estate investments by domestic financial companies, including on loans and equity investments related to Milestone Asset Management’s Chicago Canal Station Renovation Project and loans and investment in Harborside 1, 2, and 3 in New Jersey.
• Advised Skylake on acquisition financing for its investment in BusinessOn.
• Advised Meritz Securities on acquisition financing for its investment in LabGenomics.
• Advised SBI FinTech Solutions on its tender offer and voluntary delisting.
• Advised Shinsegae Property on the issuance of new capital securities and related securitization transactions
• Advised Meritz Securities on the formation of and investment in an institutional private fund.
• Advised NH-Amundi Asset Management on fund establishment and investment.
• Advised domestic financial institutions on over-the-counter derivatives transactions, including total return swaps (TRS).
