James has advised Korean and global private equity firms, Korean conglomerates and listed Korean companies with their cross-border transactions across the Asia-Pacific region with a Korean and/or Australian nexus.
James is a commercially astute lawyer holding a B.Com.(Accounting) as well as an LL.B. from the University of Sydney, who considers the client’s commercial objectives as a top priority in providing his legal services.

- Advised the owner of Classys Inc., a KOSDAQ-listed company, on the sale of its shares with management rights to Bain Capital at approximately KRW 670 billion.
- Advised Carlyle Group on the acquisition of 10% of Hyundai Glovis Co., Ltd. from its majority shareholder in an off-hours block trade for approximately KRW 600 billion.
- Advised on the investment in a Southeast Asian online shopping platform (Carousell) through a special situation fund (SSF) managed by STIC Investment.
- Advised Easy Holdings Co., Ltd. on the acquisition of 100% of the equity interest in U.S.-based Furst-McNess Company in a cash-out reverse triangular merger.
- Represented Mad for Garlic in the acquisition of TGI Friday's franchise operations from Lotte.
- Advised the Skinfactory in the sale of 100% of its equity interest in the VIG Fund.
- Advised KNW Co., Ltd. on the buyout of Solvay Korea (currently Fluorine Korea), a KOSDAQ-listed company.
- Advised TPG on the acquisition of Health Balance.
- Advised Pan Ocean Co., Ltd. on the acquisition of a 36.25% minority interest in EGT in Washington, U.S.
