Introduction

Mr. Soon-Youl Kwon is a partner at Shin & Kim and his practice focuses on antitrust, tax, administrative dispute, criminal litigation and civil execution.

Mr. Kwon brings approximately 18 years of judicial experience, during which he handled warrant review matters as well as criminal and civil trials across multiple courts. He later served as a High Court Judge at the Seoul High Court, where he presided over criminal appellate proceedings and administrative appeals with a focus on tax and antitrust matters. Since retiring from the judiciary in 2023, he has been advising on and representing clients in civil, criminal, and administrative (tax and antitrust) disputes, leveraging his extensive judicial background.

In addition, he served as a professor at the Judicial Research and Training Institute, where he lectured on provisional remedies and civil execution law. He also taught civil and criminal practice as an adjunct professor at six law schools, demonstrating broad expertise across civil and criminal law as well as enforcement and execution law.
