Tae-Hyeon Kim is a partner at Shin & Kim whose practice focuses on white collar crime, international criminal law, information security, digital technology and data law, and digital forensics.
Mr. Kim graduated from Yonsei University College of Law and graduated from the 44th class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute. He also holds an LL.M. in Information Technology and Intellectual Property Law from the University of Sussex, UK and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E) certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
Mr. Kim worked as a Public-Service Judge Advocate at the Korea Legal Aid Corporation, where he handled a variety of civil, criminal and family cases, and at the National Litigation Division of the Ministry of Justice, where he conducted and supervised numerous administrative proceedings. Since joining Shin & Kim, Mr. Kim has focused on white-collar criminal cases, including breach of trust, embezzlement and capital market violations, and has successfully represented a number of Korean companies in cases involving the Information and Communication Network Act and the Personal Information Protection Act. He has also achieved successful results in other areas, including cases on antitrust violations involving price-fixing, violations involving labor unions and dispatching, violations of the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act and the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act of a Korean pharmaceutical company, and preliminary investigations and digital forensic investigations for Korean and foreign companies.
