概要

Mr. Kwangje Woo is an Advisor at Shin & Kim, where he provides advisory services in the areas of economic security, nuclear power and energy, climate and environmental matters, and national core technology protection and technology security.

Mr. Woo has extensive experience working at government agencies responsible for national security and intelligence, where he handled matters involving Korea’s key industries, including nuclear power and energy, shipbuilding and defense, as well as finance and capital markets. During his service at the Office of National Security, he worked on a range of issues involving international relations, foreign affairs and national security. Through these roles, he has accumulated broad experience spanning national security and industrial and economic policy, and has developed an in-depth understanding of government agencies responsible for economic and industrial affairs and key industries, together with an extensive network across relevant government and industry sectors.

In particular, Mr. Woo has handled a broad range of economic security and technology security matters involving small modular reactors (SMRs), nuclear power and nuclear fuel, the defense industry, batteries, the protection of national core technologies, and global supply chains. He has also handled matters related to nuclear power exports, Korea-U.S. nuclear cooperation and other areas of international cooperation. In addition, his advisory and evaluation activities in the areas of climate change response, greenhouse gas emissions reduction, and national science and technology policy have enabled him to develop extensive expertise in matters at the intersection of climate and energy policy and industrial policy.

Prior to entering public service, Mr. Woo worked at Doosan Enerbility (formerly Korea Heavy Industries & Construction Co., Ltd.), where he was involved in research and strategic planning relating to climate change, energy and environmental issues. Drawing on his experience spanning the private sector, government agencies and the Office of National Security, Mr. Woo provides strategic advice to companies navigating complex challenges involving economic security, technology protection, government policy and regulation, and external risks arising from intensifying global technology competition and the energy transition.
