According to this year's Korea Economic Daily rankings of the top law firms in Korea (Hankyung Business in Korean), Shin & Kim was ranked third in the “Best Law Firm” category. 

Since the Korea Economic Daily began conducting these annual surveys 9 years ago, Shin & Kim has been top-ranked in all 17 areas surveyed. This year, our firm ranked among the top 2 law firms for the following categories, including the #1 ranking for fees:

• Advisory fees (ranked first);
• Communication with clients;
• Loyalty (accountability and genuine interest/sincerity);
• Antitrust and Competition;
• M&A; and
• Labor.

Additionally, 6 of our attorneys were selected as “2019 Best Lawyers,” which is the largest number of individual lawyer awards among the law firms.

Mr. Jong Han OH was selected for his achievements in civil litigations, while Mr. Daeshik KIM and Mr. Jae Young CHANG were commended for their expertise and achievements in finance and capital markets areas. Mr. Jae Young CHANG was also recognized in the (general) corporate category.  Further, Mr. Dongryul (”Derek”) LEE was recognized as a star lawyer in the Antitrust and Competition category, while Mr. Jae Min JEON was recognized as an Arbitration and International Disputes top performer.  Also, Mr. Dong Wook KIM was recognized in the Labor & Employment categories. 

About the survey: Since 2010, the Korea Economic Daily has been conducting annual surveys to determine the top-performing law firms across 17 categories in Korea. The survey responses were gathered from in-house legal department members of Korea’s Top 200 Companies, which are the major consumers of external law firm's legal services.
