Mr. Ki Cheol Yang worked in major positions at the Korea Communications Commission (Telecommunications Service Policy Division, Internet Ethics Team, Consumer Protection Division and Privacy Infringement Investigation Division) and the Personal Information Protection Commission (Review Division and Legal Affairs and Inspection Division). Over thirty years, he handled a variety of broadcasting and communications affairs, including revitalization of new telecommunications services, improvement of temporary measure systems for freedom of speech on the Internet, and regulation on the act of impairing user profit by telecommunications businesses and creation of a fair competition environment. He also conducted duties that pertain to applicable laws, such as the privacy infringement investigation and review under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection and the Act on the Protection and Use of Location Information, the interpretation of personal information protection statutes, and the review of proposed laws.
