Mr. Keonjoo Lee is a partner at Shin & Kim. Mr. Lee’s practice focuses on criminal affairs.

In 1991, Mr. Lee worked at Shin & Kim specializing in corporate legal affairs. In 1992, he joined the Western Branch of Seoul District Public Prosecutors' Office as a prosecutor. He continued on with his career and assumed various positions including Director General of the High-Tech Crimes Department at the Seoul District Public Prosecutors' Office, Officer of the Forensic Science Planning at the Supreme Public Prosecutors' Office, Deputy Minister for Crime Prevention Policy at the Ministry of Justice, Chief Prosecutor at the Daejeon District Public Prosecutors' Office, and Vice President of the Judicial Research and Training Institute. Mr. Lee has returned to Shin & Kim as of March 2015 as a partner.

During his tenure as a prosecutor, Mr. Lee was one of the first in Korea to investigate illegal piracy of computer programs, and he has made a number of pioneering achievements from his investigations in the fields of general criminal affairs, anti-corruption, public security, information and technology, cyber crime, unfair competition, trade secret, and intellectual property. His achievements also reach international criminal affairs, scientific investigation, and crime prevention policies: contributed to the negotiation and enforcement of the OECD Anti-Bribery Convention and the Korea-U.S. Extradition Treaty; establishment of the National Digital Forensic Center (NDFC); enactment of the Act on Use and Protection of DNA Identification Information; and improvement on electronic ankle bracelet program for serious offenders.
