Mr. Woo-Yong Song is a partner at Shin & Kim and his practice focuses on human resources and labor advisory services, serious accident and occupational safety response, labor disputes and general corporate legal affairs.

Mr. Song has been with Shin & Kim’s Labor Practice Group since the group’s inception and has accumulated a wealth of experience, primarily in the areas of human resources and labor advisory services. He has in-depth experience in investigating internal corporate misconduct and responding to employees with issues, and has also accumulated extensive experience in compliance and consulting services in human resources and labor, such as illegal dispatch and recognition of workers. Mr. Song has received positive accolades for his proactive approach to advising clients and finding solutions based on their needs rather than legal risks.

Mr. Song graduated from Korea University College of Law, served as a reviewer for the 51st Bar Examination (Criminal Law), and completed the judicial training course at the Judicial Research and Training Institute as a member of the 40th class. Before joining Shin & Kim, Mr. Song served as a judge advocate and completed a Visiting Scholars Program at U.C. Berkeley School of Law, and worked as a foreign attorney at the Milan office of Gianni & Origoni (GOP) in Italy.

Mr. Song is published on various human resources and labor issues and presented at various domestic and international companies and organizations. Mr. Song has been recently recognized by the Legal Times as one of the 2023’s “Rising Stars.”

• Represented Company S, a district heating company, during an investigation regarding the misconduct of the executives and employees.
• Advised on illegal dispatch of labor for Company S, a semiconductor manufacturer.
• Advised on illegal dispatch of labor for Company D, a major automobile parts manufacturer.
• Advised on on recognition of delivery service partners as employees for Company C, a delivery service platform operator.
• Represented Insurance Company K in a case regarding disciplinary dismissal of a former labor union chairperson and a response to a one-man protest.
• Advised Company B, a foreign short-form video agency, on general human resources and labor issues.
